mountain troops

Do you really think that Delta Force is organized like the SAS, Airborne, Maritime, Land and Mountain troops?
Wikipedia and Global Security.

I understand these are written by people who obviously aren’t in the unit, but still. I would just assume that they would train all of there operators in all four of those fields.
Most of the information in these articles was extracted from books written by people in…. or that were in DELTA…. like most accounts there are minor errors (EXAMPLE: Fort Fredric is located above the prison in Grenada , but other than a few guards there were no troops stationed at that fort….in fact it is a huge water storage facility…. I have some personal doubts as to the accuracy of the actual attack as related…. if it was done that way it would have been VERY amatuerish and not in keeping with my experience in working with Delta or any other SpecOps unit???) ) but on the whole are fairly accurate….. Remember a lot of these guys got stories from each other and official documents of questionable accuracy …. the view from the ground with bullets whizzing around you is not always 20X20…..and memories some times get it wrong
As to the exact organization of Delta….most of those that know are not talking…. Haney probably got close… he was Admin support for Delta and did go to Panama…. but even his data is dated…. the addendum to Beckwith’s book gives clues…
Professionally I doubt Delta is organized like you have suggested…. but then what do I know???
PAUL…. Delta was based on SAS…. Charlie spent a tour with them…. but Delta has grown beyond that…..we learned a lot from the Iran fiasco…. EVERYTHING is organic…..nothing borrowed
